As we all know that, Vasant Panchami is the commencement of the spring season. On this day, Goddess Saraswati is worshiped everywhere in the country. The Goddess is also known as the deity of learning, wisdom, knowledge and music. Mostly in the eastern part of India, we can notice that every family performs the puja at their home. Morning Rituals on the day of Puja

It is important that the person who is performing the puja must take a bath early in the morning with neem and tulsi leaves. It also important that before taking the bath the person should apply neem and turmeric paste on the body. This procedure purifies the body as well as protects the person from any foreign infections. After completing the procedure, the person either should wear a white or a yellow coloured cloth.

Placing the Idol and the Kalash

It is important that you place the deity on a platform in your house which must be properly cleaned. It is also in the rituals that you decorate the surrounding of the platform with kumkum, turmeric, rice, garlands, and flowers. In the front of the deity keep the Kalash filled with holy water along with the mango leaves, and also put a betel leaf on the top of it.

Reciting Mantras

Take flowers and bel patras in your hand and recite the mantra. Place it then at the feet of the Goddess. The priest generally performs the puja and the person who participates in the puja recites the mantra along with the priest. While offering flowers to the deity the person prays to Goddess to get the blessings from the deity.

Light the Lamp

After the puja gets completed it is important that you light the lamp as well as incense sticks in front of the deity. Also offer sweets, fruits to the Goddess. In several houses, even Aarti is performed at the end. Havan is also considered as one of the important ritual associated with this Puja.
