The annual celebration of Guru Gobind Jayanti falls on the 20th of January this year. He was born on 22nd December 1666 in Patna, Bihar. Guru Gobind Singh was not only a great spiritual leader but a courageous warrior of all times. Unknown to many, he fought fourteen wars against the Mughal empire, not for revenge or demolition of their clan. His only aim was to save all countrymen from being ill-treated or mishandled. The most pathetic period was when two of his sons died in battles, and the other two were executed by the Mughals. However, in spite of such grievous loss, he never failed to continue his fights and acts of kindness to others in need.
